Marie is the Medical Director of the Cleveland Clinic Lung Transplant and Heart and Lung Transplant Program. This is one of the largest transplant programs in the world and in 2009 completed 159 transplants in a single year, the largest number every done at a single center. Dr. Budev is also one of the youngest females in the country to receive an endowed chair: the Macon and Joan Brock Endowed Chair in Lung Transplantation. In addition to her patient care activities, Dr Budev is the primary investigator for several NIH trials and research studies in lung transplantation. She has authored and co-authored more than 100 abstracts, original articles and book chapters focusing on lung transplantation. When not working, Marie enjoys traveling the world, going to basketball and football games and spending time with her family, and her fiancé Dr James Yun.
