At four years old, Tom was living in the Colombian Amazon with his anthropologist parents and a tribe called the Barasana. It was during this time that his passion for wildlife and adventure was born. Later, he studied Zoology at Bristol University and this led to work at the BBC’s Natural History Unit and then his first job as a researcher. Tom has worked here ever since, making a wide range of award winning wildlife programming including: Human Planet, Planet Earth, The Ganges, Extreme Animals and The Natural World. Tom is currently producing an ambitious landmark series called One Planet whilst finishing off production and direction of the first two episodes in the David Attenborough series Life Story due for transmission in later on in 2014.

When not away filming, Tom lives with his partner and his two children in Bristol, UK.

Register for EG 2020.

30 April - 2 May 2020

Our team has been working hard behind the scenes to bring you a superb program for EG2020. However, in light of growing and legitimate concerns regarding the rapid spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) which have gutted international events of all sizes, we have made the difficult decision to put EG on hiatus until it is once again deemed safe.

We know how much each of you look forward to EG and we were looking forward to seeing old friends, and welcoming many new ones, but we do need to prioritize the health and safety of our attendees, presenters, and partners, especially those traveling from afar.

We will be in touch in due course with future plans.
