The Early stuff:  Child prodigy (yawn). Educated/trained in the US & Europe (Fullbright Scholar - Munich Bach Choir 1965). Moved to NYC in 1968.  Still there.

The Boring stuff:  a bunch of degrees. Prepared choruses for Leonard Bernstein, Eugene Ormandy, Seiji Ozawa, Robert Shaw, Pierre Boulez, Michael Tilson Thomas and others. Worked with NY Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, Chicago Symphony, Atlanta Symphony, etc. Also worked with Roberta Flack, Stevie Wonder, Harry Belafonte. Music Director of The Newark Boys Chorus 1968-1976.  Organ recitals at Riverside Church, Cathedral of St. John The Divine, West Point Chapel, lots of other joints.  Director of Music & Organist at The Collegiate Church of NYC from 1985-2007.

Important stuff:  connoisseur of all things 3 Stooges & Monty Python.  Retired, but very busy being opinionated, crotchety,  & impatient.

Most important stuff of all:  Mike Hawley’s high school piano teacher.  Many juicy stories re: Mr. Hawley available upon request.

The end.

Register for EG 2020.

30 April - 2 May 2020

Our team has been working hard behind the scenes to bring you a superb program for EG2020. However, in light of growing and legitimate concerns regarding the rapid spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) which have gutted international events of all sizes, we have made the difficult decision to put EG on hiatus until it is once again deemed safe.

We know how much each of you look forward to EG and we were looking forward to seeing old friends, and welcoming many new ones, but we do need to prioritize the health and safety of our attendees, presenters, and partners, especially those traveling from afar.

We will be in touch in due course with future plans.
