An accomplished filmmaker, explorer, author and mountaineer, David has led over 40 expeditions to the Himalayan region, summiting Everest five times, and worked on dozens of documentary film projects — some, like the IMAX movies on EVEREST and KILIMANJARO, to extraordinary acclaim. His work has taken him to remote locations throughout Tibet, China, Nepal, India, Pakistan and East Africa and garnered four Emmy Awards. His best-selling memoir, High Exposure: An Enduring Passion for Everest and Unforgiving Places documents his life as a mountaineer and filmmaker.
David is also the founder and executive director of GlacierWorks, a non-profit organization that uses art, science and adventure to raise public awareness about the consequences of climate change.
